New Year. New You
Happy New Year! If you are reading this then you have been blessed to see 2023 and I’m happy you’re here.
I like a lot of people have always love the New Year holiday because I absolutely love the idea of starting over. Out with the old and in with the new!
Full transparency Christmas gives me anxiety so once it’s over, I do enjoy the days leading up to New Year’s Day to declutter, throw out, and make room for all things new.
This year has looked completely different for me as I have been sick for what feels like the entire month of December leading into and after the holidays. Trust me December 2022 literally tried to beat me physically, emotionally and mentally. But happy to declare it absolutely did NOT defeat me. If anything, it’s provided me the necessary down time to REST, think, dream, and regroup.
And believe me, it was well overdue.
A year or 2 ago I wanted to mentally retire the word “resolutions” as it just seemed to be something that I could never stick to by Easter. And talking to others over the years and through social media, I’m not the only one.
We all know that the gym will be packed this entire month. Book clubs and audible subscriptions will be on the rise based on new reading goals established. The New Year brings an earnest desire to reinvent and self improvement which is great.
But why is some of our New Year goals never make it mid year?
- Join a gym to lose 20lbs to live a healthier lifestyle”.
You pick a gym and join and work out just for a few months but suddenly lose the motivation to go. Maybe because the scale isn’t moving in a way you’d like to see it, so you feel discouraged. Or maybe getting up early to go before or after work is getting old. And now that healthier lifestyle you aspired to have lies in balance because you associated it only with the goal of losing the weight.
Insert Intention Thinking.
Well here the concept of intention setting helps because it allows you manifest what you want and shift your mindset to just that.
So back to the example of losing weight.
Instead of “I want to lose 20lbs..”
What about Goals?
In addition to intention setting I definitely thinking making a list of yearly goals is an absolute must too. Defining actionable steps is still necessary in creating any goal. So try setting goals and make them time-bound in order to put some “teeth” behind the goal. And by setting your intentions too, it will further assist with the shift.
Here’s to manifestation all 2023♥️
