Happy Friday! Can I be transparent? It’s been a week y’all. For me the last few weeks have been insane and today I needed a break. The days lately have felt longer than normal and it feels like my to-do list now has a to-do list. So today I decided to take the day off and just #getshitdone (excuse the language)! Errands that take up my entire Saturday, laundry that is patiently waiting per usual for me Saturday morning..literally all the things! Call it a mental health day but TODAY I’m dedicating the first half and the better part of my day just for me. No interruptions. No email.
Just me.
I’m going to enjoy every sip of my coffee this morning. I’m going to spend some much needed time outdoors uninterrupted. I’m going to enjoy a pedicure. Hell..I’m even going to indulge in this whole bag of pretty good beignets (it’s cheat day) from a local coffee shop that makes the BEST caramel latte and day dream that I’m in my favorite city chilling outside of Cafe du Monde.
Because quite frankly..we all need a break sometimes. It’s not indulgent to make yourself a priority. It’s not selfish to push back the plate. Normalize rest and recognize when you are overwhelmed. If not for an entire day but just for a couple of hours schedule some time to reset, catch up, or just breathe. All will be well in the world if you take a moment just for you.
